Low Batteries, bad battery connections & Faulty AC Adaptors are the #1 cause of scale malfunction and inaccuracy! We test all of our scale returns from consumers. Fully 60% of consumer returns are battery related problems. This sounds silly but it's true! A scale will perform slowly, or read inaccurately when it has low batteries. Please replace the batteries often (and only use good quality batteries). We include good quality batteries with all of our scales but batteries can run low in storage. If your scale simply won't turn on while on Battery power, this is often caused by loose battery connections. Battery prongs (terminals) are made of metal. They must be making good contact with your batteries in order for the scale to power on. You can use a paperclip to slightly bend the battery prongs to make them have a better connection. Also some poorly designed batteries have recessed or partially obstructed battery terminals. This may cause your prongs to be touching the plastic housing of the battery instead of the metal battery terminal. A Faulty AC adaptor can cause your scale to act unstable with numbers "jumping" all around. Please test your scale with a good set of batteries (instead of the AC adaptor) to determine if perhaps the AC adaptor is faulty.

This page contains operating instructions for the 1Scale 200 and 1Scale 2000 and Advanced Programming for the 1Scale 200. Please make sure you are looking at the correct manual for your model scale.

1SCALE 2000 OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS

The 1scale is very easy to operate. However, there are certain caring and operation instructions you should read before your first use We know taking the time to read these instructions is time consuming, but this scale is a precision instrument and must be handled with the utmost care.

Battery Installation

1. Press and push open the battery cover located at the bottom of the unit.

2. Insert 4 AAA size batteries matching the (+) and (-) polarity covers with the battery. Close the battery cover until it clicks shut.

Note : If the battery symbol appears in the display during normal operation, it means low battery power. It is time to replace the battery. If the power is too low, it will show “Lo” when power on and then turn off automatically.

Weighing Function

1. Turn the scale on by pressing the key below the LCD.

2. Once display shows “0”, place the item to be weighed onto the scale platform and the weight will appear in the display.

3. There is a stability indicator “H” in the top left corner of the screen. Whenever the “H” is displayed, that means that displayed weight is stable.

Note : The scale will read ERR if it is trying to weigh above it’s capacity.

To turn off the scale

Press and hold the key for 3 seconds to turn off the scale after use.

To use TARE Function

1. After weight is displayed, press and quickly release the key once. The Display will return to “0”.

2. Add next ingredient. Weight of the new ingredient will show in display. Repeat these two steps until all ingredients are added.

3. Remove all ingredients to get the total weight.

To set oz or gram

The selection of grams or ounces is done at startup. Make sure the scale is turned off first. Then turn on the scale but hold down the key (the button) for a few extra seconds. The “oz” and “g” icons will toggle repeatedly. Release the key when the desired unit is showing on the display (either G or OZ). The selected unit will be saved and the scale will remain in that mode until you change it again.

Auto Power Down

The scale turns off automatically after idle / non-use of about 90 seconds.

Precautions

1. Do not clean the unit with abrasive or corrosive compound. It may scratch the plastic and corrode the electronic circuit. (NOTE: Do not use Alcohol or any Alcohol based solution to clean the scale)

2. Do not overload the scale. Not to place anything that weighs more than 2000g on the platform, or it may permanently damage the weighing sensor.

3. Do not subject the unit to excessive force, shock, dust, temperature, direct sunlight, heavy rain or humidity, which may result in malfunction, shorter electronic life span, battery damage or distorted parts.

4. Do not tamper with the unit’s internal components. It will invalidate the warranty on the unit and may cause unnecessary battery damage and distorted parts.

5. Place product on a flat stable surface before use.

Simple Calibration

1. Turn on the scale and wait for the “0g” to show on the display

2. Put a 1000g standard weight on the platform and wait until it is stable.

3. Press and hold the button for 3 seconds, the scale will be turned off temporary. Keep holding the button for another 20 seconds. The display will turn on again and show “1000”.

The calibration is now completed.

Remember that this is a precision instrument and must be handled with extreme care. If you overload your scale and "ERR" appears please try the advanced programming guide. Remember, Overload voids your warranty so please don't overload your scale!

Only operate this scale in a clean, vibration free and air movement free envirornment. It is very sensitive!

PROPER ENVIRONMENT AND OPERATION

• Do not activate your scale near an active cell phone, cordless phone, or other electronic device. Doing so will cause your 1scale to temporarily malfunction and be extremely inaccurate.
• You must remove the yellow circular shipping spacer prior to installing batteries or turning on.
• Never turn the scale on with any objects already on the tray (clear the tray before turning on).
• Do not leave anything on the scale when not in use.
• If the scale ever "locks up" (reads 8888 for more then 15 seconds), simply remove and reinsert the batteries.
• Do not get the scale wet or hot and do not operate on any wet or hot surface.
• To clean the scale, wipe the surface with a clean damp cloth or mild non-abrasive cleaner. Do not use an abrasive cleaner it will damage the finish.
• Do not overload the scale. That is, do not place anything that weighs more then 200 Grams on the scale. It may permanently damage the load cell.
• Handle the scale with care. This is a precision weighing instrument and should never be dropped or otherwise mishandled.
• Do not use the glass to pick up the scale, only hold and lift the scale by its base.
• If the scale ever reads "Lo" or weighs very slowly, please replace the batteries.
• In the unlikely event your scale should require recalibration please refer to the calibration manual.
• The #1 cause of Scale malfunction is Low Batteries Ð be sure to replace your batteries often.

1SCALE 200 version 3.0 OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
If you have a prior model scale please email us for your instruction manual. The version 3.0 has 3 buttons on the front of the scale.

1. Do not put anything on the scale before you turn the unit on. (Clear the tray before powering on)
2. Turn the scale on by pressing the big main button below the LCD. After 2 seconds, the display will read "0 g".
3. Always allow the scale to warm up for at least 30 seconds before weighing.
4. Place the item to be weighed on the scale and read the value on the display.
5. If you need to use the Tare function to weigh wet items, moist foods, or anything in a container, you should:
   
   1. Turn the scale on.
   2. Place the empty container on the scale and wait for the scale to stabilize.
   3. Press the Tare button
   4. Place the items to be weighed into the container.
   5. The exact weight of the items will show.
6. The scale has an Auto-Off feature that turns off the scale after lapses of non-activity. If the scale is in a room with wind or air movement, it may sense the pressure of the air and not auto-off. In this case you must use the manual shutoff. Simply press the main big button to turn the scale off manually.
7. Gram / Ounce Function: This scale has the ability to weigh in either gram or ounce mode. Pressing the G/OZ key does the selection of grams or ounces. Turn the scale on Ð the scale will start in Gram mode. Press the G/OZ key. The scale is now in Ounce mode.

BATTERY INSTRUCTIONS
Use 4 AAA 6volt heavy duty or alkaline batteries. Please make sure the polarity is correct when installing new batteries. You should refer to the diagram on the battery compartment.

1SCALE 200 VERSION 3.0 ADVANCED PROGRAMMING
These instructions are to be used only if the scale locks up showing "ERR" or needs to be hard reset. This is not an easy procedure and must only be done when absolutely necessary.

These instructions are only for the 1scale 200 version 3.0. The 3.0 has 3 buttons on the front of the scale. If you only have 1 button on the front of your scale you have version 1.0 or 2.0.

Please read the entire manual before you attempt advanced programming.

1. Make sure the yellow spacer is removed, the glass platform is installed, and nothing is on the platform.
2. Place the scale on a flat stable surface that has NO vibrations and make sure there is absolutely NO air movement.
3. Be sure there are no causes of electronic interference within 15 feet of the scale such as Cell or cordless phones, etc..
4. Make sure nothing is on the glass platform and the scale should be off with the yellow spacer removed.
5. Use a pen or paperclip to press and hold the recessed hidden RESET switch next to the TARE key. (it is the hidden recessed button next to the TARE key, you will need a bent paperclip to press it).
6. While keeping the RESET switch depressed, press and release the big main button to turn the scale on. Do not release the Reset Button.
7. After a few seconds, the display will show "0.0g", now you can release the reset switch.
8. Press and hold the BIG MAIN BUTTON for 15 seconds. The display will then show a random 4 digit figure.
9. Gently Place a 200g standard weight on the platform. The displayed figure will increase.
10. Wait 10 seconds for the display to stabilize and then gently press the Big Main Button once. The display should change to 0000.
11. Adjust the settings by using the Tare key (shifts the blinking digit) and the G/OZ key (changes the blinking digit) to change the readings as described below:
12. Adjust the 0000 figure to "2000" by pressing the G/OZ key Twice. If you make a mistake and press g/oz too many times you can just keep pressing it until you get it back to 2000.
13. Press the BIG MAIN BUTTON key. The display will show a 4 digit figure, probably 0983.
14. use the Tare & g/oz keys to change this figure to 1009.
    
    1. Press the g/oz key to change the first figure to 1.
    2. Then, press the Tare key once to shift the blinking digit.
    3. Press g/oz to change the second figure to 0.
    4. Then, press the Tare key once to shift the blinking digit again
    5. Press g/oz twice to change the third figure to 0.
    6. Then, press the Tare key once to shift the blinking digit
    7. Press the g/oz key six times to change the fourth figure to 9. 1009 will show.
15. Press the Big Main Button again. The display will show the default setting 2 g. Do not change this figure.
16. Press the Big Main Button again. The display will show 5. Press the Tare key several times to change this to 1.
17. Press the Big Main Button again. The display will show the default setting 0.0. Do not change this figure.
18. Press the Big Main Button again. The display will show 1000. Press the Tare key several times to change this to 2000.
19. Press the Big Main Button once more. The display will show 0 and the scale will turn off in 2 seconds, which means the calibration and Advanced programing is completed.
20. Remove the 200g weight from the platform.
21. Turn the scale back on and test some weight readings.If the readings are still inaccurate, perform hard reset again from step 1 and try again. If after several attempts the scale still shows "err" or will not perform properly, please return it to us for repair.

SPECIAL ADVANCED PROGRAMMING SECTION
If you wish to make your 1Scale work faster or customize it please follow these instructions. We do not recommend any of this because it may cause your scale to be unstable, slightly inaccurate or burst into flames (just kidding). You an always change it back to the default settings. Again, We do not recommend tampering with these settings.

• For step 12 above, change the figure to 1099 This will make the scale work faster.
• Or for step 12 above, set the figure to 0099, if you wish to turn off the Hold Function.
• For step 18 above, change the figure to 2500. This will raise the capacity to 250.0 grams. Please don't try raising it further because it simply won't work.

BATTERY INSTRUCTIONS
