This is the Owners Manual and Calibration guide for all C200 Convertible Scales
(below). The C200 uses the same internal program as the Palmscale 5.0. So, for
advanced programming information, please view the
Palmscale 5.0 Advanced Programming/Repair
.
Low Batteries & bad battery
connections are the #1 cause of scale malfunction and inaccuracy! We test all of our scale returns from consumers. Fully
60% of consumer returns are battery related problems. This sounds silly but it's true!
A scale will perform slowly, or read inaccurately when it has low batteries. Please replace the batteries often (and only use good quality batteries). We include good quality batteries with all of our scales but batteries can run low in storage.
If your scale simply won't turn on while on Battery power, this is
often caused by loose battery connections. Battery prongs (terminals) are
made of metal. They must be making good contact with your batteries in order for
the scale to power on. You can use a paperclip to slightly bend the
battery prongs to make them have a better connection. Also some poorly designed
batteries have recessed or partially obstructed battery terminals. This may
cause your prongs to be touching the plastic housing of the battery instead of
the metal battery terminal.
This scale is very easy to operate. However, there are certain caring and
operation instructions you should read before your first use. We know taking the
time to read these instructions is time consuming, but this scale is a precision
instrument and must be handled with the utmost care.
IMPORTANT:
1)To open the scale, lift up
on the cover using the notch at the front.
2) There is a jewelers scoop
and tweezers on the bottom of the scale. The tweezers are stored above the
scoop. To release the jewelers
scoop, slide it out towards the back of the scale. When
the scoop is out
of the scale, the tweezers can also be removed.
3) Always empty the
tray/platform before turning the power on (clear
the platform before turning on)
4) Do not get the scale wet
or hot and do not operate on any wet or
hot surface To clean the scale, wipe the surface with a
clean damp
cloth or mild non-abrasive cleaner. Do not use an abrasive
cleaner because it may damage the finish.
5) Do not overload the
scale. That is, do not place anything that
weighs more then 200 Grams on the platform.
You may
permanently damage the load cell.
6) Handle the scale with
care. This is a precision instrument and
should never be dropped or otherwise mishandled
7) Do not leave anything on
the scale when not in use.
8) If the scale is
excessively cold or hot, allow the scale to warm up to
normal room temperature for at least 1 hour prior to use.
9)
Do not operate a cell phone or cordless phone within 10 feet
of the scale**** It may
temporarily cause the scale to malfunction
10) If the scale ever reads
"Lo" or weighs very slowly, please replace the batteries.
11) In the unlikely event
that the scale permanently "locks up" or shows
ERR, visit
http://www.myweigh.com/support_advprog_palmscale5.html
for Advanced Troubleshooting (the C200 Troubleshooting is the same as the
Palmscale 5.0).
12) If your scale should
require recalibration, please refer to the
calibration guide on the next page.
13) This scale comes with
changeable faceplate covers. To change faceplates, open the cover and pull to
separate it from the back of the scale. Press inwards on the prongs to release
the entire tray from the back of the scale. Insert the new cover (pushing in on
the prongs as you insert it). There is also an enclosed sheet with detailed
instructions.

6. The scale has an Auto-Off
feature that turns off the scale after lapses of non-activity. If the scale is
in a room with wind or air movement, it may sense the pressure of the air and
not auto-off. In this case simply press
to turn the scale off manually.
7. UNIT Function: This scale
has the ability to weigh in grams or ounces. The selection is done by simply

/ - 0.1G
CALIBRATION INSTRUCTIONS
THIS SCALE IS ACCURATE WITHIN 0.1g, only calibrate if your readings are
inaccurate beyond 0.1g. Allow your scale to warm up for several seconds before
calibration. Always move your hands very gently during calibration as to not
cause vibrations or air movement.
1.
Place the scale on a flat stable
surface that has NO vibrations and make sure there is absolutely NO air
movement. (Surface must be extremely stable)
2.
Turn the scale off and clear the
platform (Make sure nothing is on the platform not even the plastic tray)
3. Turn the scale on by pressing
.
4.When the display shows 0.0, Place a 100 gram weight on
the center of the tray..
5. Wait 5 seconds for the display to stabilize ,then press
and hold the UNIT key until the display flashes 100.0 twice.
(This will take about 6 seconds)
6. Calibration is complete, release the UNIT key and
remove the weight from the tray.
If the readings are inaccurate, perform calibration
again..
If your scale will not properly calibrate or shows "err"

BATTERY INSTRUCTIONS
Use 2 CR2032 3volt batteries. Please make sure the polarity is correct when
installing new batteries. Slide the locking switch near the battery cover to
access batteries. Low batteries are the #1 cause of scale malfunction so be sure
your batteries are good.
Advanced Stability Feature (ASF)
This scale has a stability indicator (S) in the top left corner of the
screen. Whenever the "S" is displayed that means the displayed weight is stable.
Tools (onboard)
The C200 has on-board tools for handling gems and other loose materials. You
can find an on-board scoop and tweezers on the bottom of the scale (the tweezers
are exposed when the scoop is removed)
CHANGEABLE FACEPLATE COVERS
The C200 comes with four changeable faceplate covers. Use whichever cover you
like best. To change faceplates please follow the picture-pamphlet included in
the box (it’s a very easy process).
There is an advanced troubleshooting and programming guide available online
for this scale at our website.
Words of Advice:
The C200 is a unique weighing device that is designed to have changeable
faceplates to suit your daily mood or personality. Remember that this is a
precision instrument. It is essential that you never drop, shake or otherwise
mishandle this instrument. Electronic precision scales use delicate sensors that
can easily be damaged if the scale is excessively shocked, dropped or
overloaded. Treat your scale well and it will last for many years.
