This is the Owners Manual and Calibration guide for the Tempest. The
Tempest uses a special program - to do an advanced calibration for the
Tempest please see the bottom of this page or click here Low Batteries & bad battery
connections are the #1 cause of scale malfunction and inaccuracy! We test all of our scale returns from consumers. Fully
60% of consumer returns are battery related problems. This sounds silly but it's true!
A scale will perform slowly, or read inaccurately when it has low batteries. Please replace the batteries often (and only use good quality batteries). We include good quality batteries with all of our scales but batteries can run low in storage.
If your scale simply won't turn on while on Battery power, this is
often caused by loose battery connections. Battery prongs (terminals) are
made of metal. They must be making good contact with your batteries in order for
the scale to power on. You can use a paperclip to slightly bend the
battery prongs to make them have a better connection. Also some poorly designed
batteries have recessed or partially obstructed battery terminals. This may
cause your prongs to be touching the plastic housing of the battery instead of
the metal battery terminal.
IMPORTANT

OPERATION AND CALIBRATION INSTRUCTIONS
This scale is very easy to
operate. However, there are certain caring and operation instructions you should

abrasive cleaner because it may damage the finish.
4)
Do not overload the scale.
That is, do not place anything that weighs more than 250 grams on the platform.
You may permanently damage the load cell.
5)
Handle the scale with care. This
is a precision instrument and should never be dropped or otherwise mishandled.
6)
Do not leave anything on the
scale when not is use.

If the scale is excessively cold
or hot, allow the scale to warm up to normal room temperature for at least 1
hour prior to use.
8)
Do not operate a cell phone or
cordless phone within 10 feet of the scale****
It may temporarily cause the scale to malfunction.
9)
If the scale ever reads “Lo” or
weighs very slowly, please replace the batteries.
10)
In the unlikely event that the
scale permanently “locks up” or shows ERR, visit
www.myweigh.com for Advanced Troubleshooting.
11)
If your scale should require
recalibration, please refer to the calibration guide on the next page.
12)
Please keep your scale in it’s
protective pouch when not in use.

your scale to warm up for several seconds before calibration. Always move your
hands very gently during calibration as to not cause vibrations or air movement.

TROUBLESHOOTING INSTRUCTIONS
BATTERY INSTRUCTIONS
USE TWO AAA BATTERIES.
PLEASE MAKE SURE THE POLARITY IS CORRECT WHEN INSTALLING NEW BATTERIES. LOW
BATTERIES ARE THE #1 CAUSE OF SCALE MALFUCTION SO BE SURE YOUR BATTERIES ARE
GOOD.
ADVANCED STABILITY
FEATURE (ASF)
This scale has a stability
indicator, the letter “S” in the top left corner of the screen. Whenever the
letter “S” is displayed that means the displayed weight is stable.

Words of Advice:
The Tempest 250 is
undoubtedly one of the coolest pocket scales ever created and the first of it’s
kind. Please remember that this is a precision instrument. It is essential that
you never drop, shake or otherwise mishandle this instrument. Electronic
precision scales use delicate sensors that can easily be damaged if the scale is
excessively shocked, dropped or overload. An abused scale will only work until
it’s sensors are damaged, but a well kept scale will last for your lifetime.
Please be good to your
Tempest !
